Survey Select Events Week No 6

Wednesday, August 18 introduces a free San Diego AIGA get together featuring 30 leading graphic designers from China at 2:30 pm. This looks to be an opportunity to intermingle with a new perspective in design. There will be an interactive presentation and the opportunity to chat about design throughout the world.

Join in Wednesday night at 7 pm for a new double feature movie screening featuring, “Modern Acoustics/The Modernism of Julius Schulman” and “Marshall Arisman/Facing the Audience.” Julius Schulman (1910—2009) is mid-century architecture’s photographer of choice who brought the Case Study House #22, by architect Pierre Koenig, to prominence around the world. Julius captured the essence of modern architecture photographing buildings created by Frank Lloyd Wright, Charles Eames and Richard Neutra.

Marshall Arisman is a NY based fine artist who exhibits around the world and included in the permanent collections of the Brookly Museum, National Museum of American Art and the Smithsonian. He has also exhibited in China at the Guang Dong Museum of Art featuring his exhibition “Sacred Monkeys.” On Wednesday night we are pleased to premier Marshall’s full-length documentary, directed by Tony Silver, “Facing the Audience.”
